I feel that for next year’s awards it would be great if there was a consistent approach to judging the finalists based on a set criteria as well as the opinion of the specialist judge. It appeared to be awarded this year based upon personal opinion and in some cases whichever blog suited the prize available! In particular the sport’s award for which my friend was nominated (thefootdown), was a curious chioce. I can see that fixed gear riding is an extremely niche topic but in relation to blog credentials it excelled in matching the shortlisting criteria but was obviously of no interest to the judge. The winner is a blog that updates sporadically, but has a subject matter that is more mainstream… I don’t wish to take anything away from the winner, congratulations but the judging criteria seems to be flawed.
Llongyfarchiadau i bawb enillodd. Congratulations to all who won. I’m glad I made the shortlist and disappointed I didn’t win. The great thing is that blogs in Wales have been highlighted.
